Honest about who it's for
Invisalign Teen is best for mild-to-moderate crowding and spacing - which covers a large share of teen cases. It is not the right tool for every bite, and I'd rather tell you that in the consultation than pretend otherwise. Your dentist determines whether Invisalign is appropriate for your teen's individual case. Severe bite problems, big jaw discrepancies, or teeth that need serious rotation may need a different approach - sometimes braces, sometimes a phase of airway-focused orthodontics. The point of the first visit is a straight answer, not a sale.

02What ages work for Invisalign Teen?
Typically for teens whose permanent teeth are mostly in - usually around 12 and up. We check growth and tooth eruption at the consultation to confirm the timing is right.
03How long does treatment take?
Most teen cases run 12-18 months, depending on the crowding and how consistently the trays are worn. We show the projected plan and timeline before we start.
04Do the trays hurt?
Each new set feels snug for a day or two - that's the teeth moving. It's generally milder than braces adjustments, and there's nothing sharp to cut cheeks or lips.
05Can my teen play sports and instruments?
Yes - that's one of the best parts. Trays come out for contact sports (with a mouthguard) and go right back in after. No braces interfering with a mouthpiece for band or orchestra.
06What if my teen loses a tray?
It happens. Call us - they can usually wear the previous set while a replacement is made. We build the reality of teen life into the plan.
07Is Invisalign as good as braces?
