We'll get you out of pain first, then figure out what's actually wrong and fix that too. Don't sit on swelling or a lost tooth hoping it gets better on its own.
From Dr. Izhaky
The best emergency is the one that never happens
The best way to avoid a dental emergency is getting your regular checkups and cleanings, and following everything your doctor advises. That's how you avoid bigger work — and most importantly, dental emergencies.
A chipped tooth, a small mild pain — you're better off getting it checked before it becomes a bigger problem. Swelling and mild discomfort often lead to long-standing infections, and all of it is best avoided by regular checkups and cleanings.
Emergencies from accidents, we treat those too — that's out of your control. And a lot of sports injuries can be avoided by wearing a sports mouthguard; we're specialists in those as well.
Our approach
What Happens at an Emergency Dental Visit?
We take a careful diagnosis and evaluate. We address the pain and the root of the problem, whatever it may be. There's no cookie-cutter — it's individual, based on the overall patient presentation.
For example, when a patient breaks a tooth, we look at why it happened: is it lack of care, an occlusion problem, or a bigger skeletal issue — is the patient grinding because they're not breathing well? We evaluate, find the root cause, and treat the problem so it doesn't repeat itself.
And of course, with palliative treatment we handle the actual emergency to get you out of pain — whether that's a root canal, a wisdom tooth extraction, a deep cleaning, or surgical extraction of a tooth that can't be saved.
We try to save every tooth, because we know people with teeth live longer. And if the patient has a full set of teeth, the wisdom teeth are not our priority to save.
What we treat
What Counts as a Dental Emergency?
Don't wait until discomfort turns into severe swelling. If the office is open, we accommodate you the same day.
Toothache / Root Canal Pain
Throbbing, sharp, or constant tooth pain that keeps you up at night or makes it hard to eat. We diagnose and relieve root canal pain the same day.
Broken or Chipped Teeth
Fractured, cracked, or broken teeth from accidents, sports, or biting something hard. We repair and restore with premium materials.
Knocked-Out Tooth
Time matters — call immediately. Keep the tooth moist in milk and get to us as fast as possible for the best chance of saving it.
Facial Swelling
Swelling in the face, jaw, or gums can signal a serious dental infection. Don't wait — infections can spread quickly and need urgent treatment.
Wisdom Tooth Pain
Impacted or infected wisdom teeth causing severe pain or swelling. Our oral surgeons handle wisdom tooth emergencies.
Bleeding or Injured Gums
Uncontrolled bleeding, cuts, or trauma to the gums, lips, or soft tissue from accidents or injuries.
TMJ / Jaw Pain
Jaw joint pain, tension, or difficulty opening your mouth. We evaluate and treat TMJ pain.
