Traditional braces are still the most common type of orthodontic treatment used today, and their affordable, durable nature can benefit younger and older patients alike. Dr. Clarkson will attach silver brackets to the front of the affected teeth and then use elastic bands to connect orthodontic wires to them. The wires facilitate tooth movement and are changed out frequently during routine check-ups at our practice.
Once their new braces are in place, it’s likely that patients will experience some sensitivity and irritation at first as the inside of their mouth adjusts and “toughens up” to the addition. Today’s braces are smaller and sleeker than ever before and provide more comfort overall – plus, your child will love getting to choose their favorite color of elastic bands to wear!
